Most of us want to look younger and reverse the signs of aging. Face lift surgery has been practiced for many years, but many people are not ready for the surgery. Either they are not comfortable with the surgery or they feel that their problem is not severe enough to have a surgery (As I do in my early 40’s).
There are many alternatives available to choose from. The cost and effectiveness differ considerably. Here, we will discuss some options so that you can choose a suitable one to have a youthful appearance.
A Bit of Traditional Methods:
There are some methods being used for centuries to rejuvenate the skin and look younger and fresh.
Face lift massage: This is an old and popular procedure to rejuvenate the face. The massage takes about one hour and results can be seen immediately. This massage relaxes muscle and skin, reduces wrinkles and improves skin tone. The results are temporary and you will need the massage on a weekly basis for result retention.
Chemical peels: Chemical peels are also very popular because they are easy to use, affordable and can be used at home. Chemical peels remove the outer layer of skin, giving a chance to new skin to take its place. This new skin makes your face younger and fresh.
My Quest to Find Latest Method
In my quest to find the latest methods of a non-surgical face lift, I started my research with Google. Laser (Including new fractional CO 2 lasers), micro-current, ultrasound, and radio-wave technology, all have got my attention.
Fractional laser is being used for many years to rejuvenate the skin. A high energy beam of light is used to target the epidermis (outer skin) and dermis (inner skin). This beam causes the outer layer of skin to peel away. This beam is then switched to low energy mode to stimulate the dermis. This stimulation causes the dermis to produce collagen and form a new layer of outer skin. This newly formed outer skin will be wrinkle free, youthful, and flexible.
The other methods like micro-current, radio-waves, and ultrasound are also very effective. A benefit of using these three methods is less down time, as they do not peel away the outer layer of skin and directly stimulate the dermis.
I have visited some clinics and discussed the alternatives with experts. For now, I will go for fractional laser rejuvenation (As the experts call it, because it is not an exact substitute for surgical lift). It will peel away my skin and I will have a smoother and flexible skin. It will make my skin reddish for a few days, but I can live with that. After a few years, I may choose a micro-current, radio-wave, ultrasound, or a combination.
While you have been reading this blog, my face rejuvenation may have completed already.
